They're in fact two different services - the domain address registration is the actual name and nothing else, while the hosted domains feature reveals the amount of already registered domain addresses which you can accommodate in the same hosting account and have site data and emails for them. Your websites will work in exactly the same way no matter whether the domain names are registered and hosted at the same place or are registered with company A and directed to company B. Simply registering a domain name without hosting it will give you ownership, but will not enable you to have a site if you don't host this domain name in some account so that records for it are set up and it starts opening the information from that account.
Hosted Domains in Cloud Website Hosting
Using our Linux cloud website hosting plans you'll be able to host a different amount of domains, no matter if you register them through our company or using any other company. In the event you host just a few domain names, you'll probably use less resources, so you can go for a lower-end plan, that will be cheaper. If you want to add more domain names in your account eventually, you can add extra slots through your website hosting CP and keep the current plan or upgrade the entire plan and employ the extra system resources for the new domains. Either one of the upgrades will take only a few clicks and is activated immediately. As registering and hosting a domain address are 2 different things, there is no limit how many domains you can register no matter the plan you’ve signed up for.
Hosted Domains in Semi-dedicated Servers
If you purchase a semi-dedicated server plan through our company, you will be able to host as many domains as you would like no matter whether you register them here or you already own them through a different company. We've decided not to limit this feature because the semi-dedicated plans are very powerful and the load they can handle is fairly high, so it wouldn't make sense to be able to host a limited amount of domain names. The accounts are managed via the Hepsia Control Panel, that will give you full control over all of your hosted domains. You can add a new domain address with a couple of clicks and everything is done easily and intuitively, unlike rival Control Panels where you may even have to switch between different accounts to handle a couple of domain addresses. In case you register a new domain name on our end, it will be hosted automatically in your semi-dedicated account.
Hosted Domains in VPS Servers
With our VPS plans you'll get plenty of resources at your disposal and since you will have your own server, it is only natural that you can host as many domain names as you wish. You can select between 3 website hosting Control Panels through the registration process and depending on your choice there are two different alternatives. If you select our in-house built Hepsia CP, all domains hosted on the server will be handled together via a single account and newly registered domains will be hosted automatically, while if you choose cPanel or DirectAdmin, you'll be able to create an independent account for every single domain address and for new registrations you will have to add the domains manually. The second option could be more convenient when you have to give access to a given domain to a third party without giving them access to the whole server or to other domains hosted on it.
